An Afternoon on the Course: Building Connections at the Ranch Scramble

April 06, 2026

I had the chance to play in the 2026 Ranch Scramble recently, hosted by the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance, and it ended up being one of those afternoons that reminds you why getting involved locally is worth it.

I’m always looking for ways to connect with other professionals around Lakewood Ranch, and being part of the Young Leaders Alliance is a great tool for networking. The group is all about growing professionally, giving back, and building real relationships. Not the forced kind, just genuine connections with people you enjoy being around.

We had a great mix for our two golf foursomes. Adam and I were able to play alongside a few clients and some newer connections we’ve gotten to know recently. It made for a really easy, relaxed day. No pressure, no formal agendas. Just good conversation, a little friendly competition, and plenty of laughs along the way.

And when I say friendly competition… one member of our group is the Head Women’s Golf Coach at New College of Florida, playing alongside two of her athletes. So there really wasn’t much competition at all. Judy and her players absolutely crushed us, but it made the day even more fun.

Days like this are a good reminder that so much of what we do comes down to relationships. Not just meetings or emails, but actually spending time with people and getting to know them outside of a work setting.

Grateful to be part of a community like this and always appreciate opportunities like the Ranch Scramble to connect with good people.
