One of the highlights of being back in New Jersey this summer was having the opportunity to spend time with so many of our clients outside of the usual meetings.
There were dinners and lunches, rounds of golf, days at the beach and plenty of time simply catching up. No conference rooms or formal agendas. Just good conversations and time spent together. And I loved it.
Over the years, many of the people we work with have become more than clients. They've become friends. We've had the privilege of getting to know their families, celebrating milestones with them, and walking alongside them through different seasons of life. Spending time together this summer was a great reminder of how much those relationships mean to me.
Financial planning is personal. To do it well, we need to understand more than what's happening with someone's portfolio. We need to know what's happening in their life.
What are you excited about? What's changed with your family? How is the business going? Where have you traveled? What are you looking forward to next?
Those conversations matter because your financial plan isn't really about numbers on a page. The numbers are there to support the people, experiences and goals that matter to you.
At FourFront, we've always believed that strong relationships are at the heart of good financial planning. Of course, there are times when we need to sit down and talk about markets, investments, retirement, taxes, estate planning or another financial decision. Those conversations are important. But so are the conversations that have nothing to do with finance.
Whether we were sitting down for a meal, playing a round of golf or spending a day at the beach, I appreciated the opportunity to slow down, catch up and enjoy time together. That's something I value tremendously.
To everyone who made time to get together with me in New Jersey this summer, thank you. I'm grateful for your trust, your friendship and the opportunity to be part of your lives. I'm already looking forward to next summer.
